NEWS ALERT

For several reasons, primarily declining membership, we have decided to revamp the manner in which our group functions. An important initial decision is to discontinue the large packing events that we previously held twice a year. We will still send care packages to our service people throughout the year as names and addresses are received.

As a result, we will no longer distribute collection boxes at various locations throughout the area like we had done in the past. We encourage you to donate items throughout the year; ( see collections page) however, we can only accept non-food items at this time. Since we are now shipping throughout the year, but are sending fewer packages with each shipment, many foods item will expire before they can be shipped and may go to waste.

WE WANT TO THANK ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CAME AND GAVE THEIR TIME TO HELP WITH PACKING. WE WILL MISS SEEING ALL OF YOU , BUT WITH FEWER MEMBERS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET EVERYTHING ACCOMPLISHED THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN PREPARATION FOR AND DURING THE HUGE PACKINGS.

WE ARE EXPECTING THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A HUGE DEPLOYMENT FROM OUR AREA IN JANUARY 2012 AND OUR SERVICES WILL BE NEEDED MORE THAN EVER. PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING OUR GROUP OR SENDING A FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO HELP US IN OUR EFFORTS.
